Welcome to My World

Hello, and welcome! I am so nervous, but so incredibly excited, to be finally making my first post! I’ve wanted to start my blog for so long, but fear had always held me back. But I’ve decided it was finally time to take a leap of faith and just go for it!

A little background about me: I am 28 years old, born and raised in Kansas City where I currently live with my wonderful husband, Neil. We were married in September 2021 at our dream ceremony in Greece! I am a dog mom to three boys – Spar, Tobie and Moose. Spar is our very stubborn, and often gassy, Boxer; Tobie is a very loud, anxiety-ridden Lab and Moose is the sweetest Pitbull. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from the University of Central Missouri in 2017, a degree which I’ve still yet to use. 

Neil and I are huge football fans and love the Kansas City Chiefs! We are season ticket holders and spend most Sundays, during the season, at Arrowhead Stadium, or watching from home with our family and a ton of amazing food! I’m also a fan of our local baseball team, the Kansas City Royals, and love watching with my mom. Although, I’ve not been following them as much lately.

My blog combines two things I am very passionate about – Bully breeds and boutiques! For as long as I can remember I have had a huge love for fashion. I was always the girl with too many clothes, more shoes than one person could ever need, but never let it stop me from buying more! I also shop online way too much! I just love coming up with new outfit ideas. I am constantly either looking at or buying new clothes… just ask my husband. I am the type of person who sees an outfit and thinks “That would be perfect for *insert event here!*” so, I buy it! Even though the event is sometimes months away by the time it finally comes around I’ve already found something different to wear. I am trying to be better about not doing that, because my closet space, not to mention my husband, are suffering.  So this blog is sort of my therapy.  It gives me an outlet to share my ideas with other people, who might actually need an outfit at that time. I just find it so much fun to come up with new styling ideas and keep up with the ever changing trends.

Some places you can expect to see me shop are Amazon, Target, Express, SheIn and Walmart. I love finding stuff for a good price! I also have come to like some online boutiques really well! My most shopped are Lime Lush, Pink Lily, Petal and Pup and Vici. I’m also loving that Abercrombie has made a comeback because they have some really cute outfits, many that I have started throwing into my rotation!

Beyond fashion I am a huge advocate for the bully breeds. I want to do everything I can to change the stigma surrounding them. My biggest reality check of this problem came when I adopted my Pitbull, Moose, in 2017. It was so upsetting to witness the reality that comes with this unfair stereotype – A dog, determined to be unfit for life in a home due to its reputation for being violent.  Added to that persona was a large scar running the length of his back.  I knew if I didn’t take him home that no one else was going to, and he had no chance to actually know love.  It was one of the best decision I have made.  Moose is so full of love and appreciation for his family. He has enriched our lives, and taught us so much about what is truly important in life. For a very long time I considered opening my own animal shelter, but soon realized it would turn from a shelter with animals looking for homes to them all having a home with me. The best thing I can do is to work on changing how people see these types of dogs. I want to show people that they can be and truly wonderful dogs with many wonderful people who have welcomed them into their lives, and have been enriched for it. I’m pretty sure I follow more dog accounts on Instagram than I do actual people. 

Some other things I love and will be including in the blog are traveling and cooking! I am by no means a chef, but I love to cook and try new recipes. I also love trying new drinks! My husband makes the drinks around our house most of the time (other than pouring myself a glass of wine) but I am always on the lookout for new drink recipes we can try.

Neil and I both love traveling and are always looking at places for our next trip! In fact, before we started dating, one of the things we bonded over was travel. We have taken so many trips together over the last 3 years and have a continually growing list of places we want to go!

One of the biggest adventures in our life together is about to begin as we are about to break ground on our new home! I will take you along for everything we do for that as much as I can.

To be real, I’m not a professional writer or photographer.  Im not a subject matter expert on any of the topics I plan to share with you.  But I am passionate for living my life to the fullest and I want to share what I know, and what I like, and maybe lend a helping hand to others along the way.  So follow along and see where we end up!
